What did you do to your TJ today?

My used OEM side steps came in today, gotta pick up some bolts (I believe they’re M8-1.25x25 bolts but correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve got an 02 TJ with the
2 nutserts and 2 slots per arm).
Also going to paint the arms. Thinking flat black would probably be closest to factory… ? Let me know if you have any other paint recommendations for the arms, was also considering rattle-can bedliner.

Put my fender back on...used stainless riv nuts and 3/8-16 stainless fasteners with 3/16 Allen heads...which match the sliders I installed last week so the fasteners match. Need to get some stainless fender washers.

On a side note I used my digital angle finder and zeroed it out on the side tubes. Used it to align the rear fender... confirmed the number on the front...the other side is .09 off...wonder if the frame has a little twist.

I used well nuts with a little bit of silicone. Seems to work out well.

Same here. My phone will shake/vibrate quite a bit more than I expected just rolling down the road. I wondered if a different mounting option would be more stable. At the end of the day, the massive plastic thing its mounted to is probably the culprit.

I ordered a cab cover for topless rainy days. On sale on Amazon for like $71. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow so looks like I’ll be pulling the hardtop off tomorrow and putting on the extended bikini top for a trip to the river.

Cab covers are handy- a couple
Of scraps of wood or about anything to lay across the roll cage can really help prevent pooling above the seats- the bikini top should too.

I took my youngest son to Leeds , outskirts of Birmingham ,to get a used truck-

Awesome ride, one area has about a mile of Mimosa trees lining the road (persian silk trees) that look like a Dr. Suess drawing -

the deal went smooth-

The ride back I took a nice, suprisingly wide 2 lane county road that was just great - I just rolled with it, the beautiful houses, smell of farms - a few drops of rain -

Right now I’m about to turn in - you know, these things can bring a little magic into your life - get out there in them, you’ll see what I mean -

Before winter I'm going to have to remove the dash to get at the heater core, I'm thinking I'm going to figure out a way to mount it solid as I put it back together

No more wet ass in the morning when I drive home from work. That’s a win in my book any day lol

Went for a 143 mile drive down some pretty terrible and brushy Forest service and BLM roads scouting for trash. Found two more RVs bringing our total to 7 to haul out. My friend got his building inspector license so he can legally test them for asbestos...which we have to do before the FS will allow us to volunteer to haul them to the dump.

Finished wiring up my Powerwerx pod in the back corner. Dual USB quick charge and regular USB in one 1 1/8" arrived from Amazon...passed all my diagnostics...very picky about power... don't want to fry an expensive camera or phone.

Road test also let me test some improvements to my Bulletproof Mounts phone holder. I recently pulled the center console to wire up my defrost switch...so while it was out I put a 1/8" layer of JB weld and some stainless heavy woven screen material (used for reinforcement on plastic welding a septic tank a neighbor knocked a hole in with an excavator...long story) in the corner. Phone is steady as a rock. I didn't use BM's center plate...rather I used their universal one and put it in the corner.
