An Opportunity to Truly Help

It'll be a good time to sell with used car prices so high!!
That's the thought anyway. One thing I forgot we need to get checked out after the axle and radiator is the A/C.

@qslim do you have access to a vacuum pump and gauges? If not there might be a guy that does commercial refrigeration that I can get in touch with. (if he hasn't retired)

Yeah I have a set of gauges & a pneumatic vacuum pump. And a handful of r-134 cans.

We had a minor setback with the radiator that was delivered today. It was damaged so it's going back to RockAuto and they will be shipping out another one to replace it.
I know it's a few days late but figured since I'm in pic posting mode here's a couple pics of the damage to the radiator right out of the box.

Well, folks, it has been roughly six months since the last update regarding the car that was being repaired through generous donations as well as time, travel and labor donated by a number of our forum members. As you recall, our friend and founder of this forum was going through what started out as a particularly rough divorce, and this car (generously donated by @reddvltj) was being repaired and made roadworthy for Chris' use. But as was stated in the opening line of this thread, Life is anything but predictable, and we found ourselves with a change in direction that we all hoped would happen.

Through much hard work, patience, understanding and forgiveness, we are happy to report that things were resolved, and the family will be staying together, as we all hoped would be the case. Ultimately, there could not have been a more joyous and satisfying conclusion to this story, and Chris and his wife are to be commended for working through this extremely rough time in their relationship. It does beg the question though: What happens with the car?

As it turns out, another forum member had a need for a reliable vehicle for his daughter, and so he purchased the car at a fair and reasonable price from the forum member who had donated it to the cause. All monies from the purchase will now be donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation, as agreed upon by the members that donated, an organization that provides assistance on multiple levels to U.S. Veterans and their families. It is truly a noble and worthy cause, and you can read more about the foundation and its services here:

https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/

To those of you who assisted with your time, money, and labor, as well as with prayers and well-wishes, a heartfelt "Thank You" for stepping in, and stepping up to help a friend in need. Your generosity and caring did not go unnoticed, and is appreciated on every level.

Thank you.
