What survival get home supplies do you carry?

Everyone has their own reasons for what they carry . I daily carry a pack that has a few different size knives, life straw, 12 MRE bars, extra shoes and clothes, matches, lighter and fire rod, emergency radio, lots of cordage, small hatchet and a collapsible shovel. Also 1 gallon of water.

Remember this everyone, I learned it in Ranger school. Rule of 3’s.

You can live 3 minutes without air, 3 hours outdoors in extreme conditions, 3 days with no water and 3 weeks no food.

That’s why my pack makes sure I can accomplish all those things with relative ease.

Well said, and Ranger school pushed those limits, BUDS or others you eat all you want, not Ranger, ha.

I still Start with you only last 3 seconds if you cant defend yourself with lead, ha.

Then you’re just supplying someone else.

I've heard different variations on this but it's one of my favorites in any form.

Try this one-

Get 3 jeeps, your wife will be mad for 3 weeks and your lawyer is going to want 3000.00 dollars just to get the ball rolling to defend you from her cleaning your clock.

Firearm and extra ammo

Water and extra containers…of water.
Security and water I can go 2.5-3 miserable Fing days.

Sure fire light and batteries.

Appropriate clothes for a walk, usually hike boots there when you’re tired ankles get lazy. Dam ankles.

Knife
2 or 3 MREs and multiple bags of beef jerkey.

Lifestraw

Lighter (but never count on fire, I’m in Texas, starting a Forest Fire that kills is not worth me being cozy.

Eno (tiny hammock) and Straps

Glow sticks.
Small cooking pot/cup

I have small solar, that can charge a night vision battery and I’m getting NV soon.

I read “Going Home” by A. American (actually listened to it) and got me really thinking.

I have a go bag and weapons and a 4 day walk to a ranch, with a windmill water well and deer all over, and hogs and more firearms and ammo. Can feed my family if we get there, just have to make it, and the majority of the walk would be along a small river. So my perspective is skewed after reading that.

Great series. Eye opening

I find that many of the breakdowns that I encounter on the trail are due to poor or lack of maintenance.
I don't mind helping others but hate it when it is their fault for not taking care of their vehicle.

A flight plan filed with the kids.. and staying on course. Checking often the last spot you get at least one bar on your cell phone. Venture out with a four door jeep.. hopefully every one comes home. And water in the southwest. Love the trailer idea 💡 😍.

we need a gear queer thread with links to cool shit you guys actually have and can personally review and attest to. I'm always looking to update and upgrade my loadouts.

I'm curious on what people or if people take with them when they go out on trails? I have been thinking about putting together a survival/get home bag for the Jeep when I am out and about in the middle of nowhere with no service not necessarily on a trail wheeling, but maybe a forest/fire access road, or just a little two lane up in the mountains.

So curious what everyone brings that is not dedicated to wheeling or recovery for the jeep?

Same stuff I bring wheeling. Random list as it comes to me:
Tools
spare serpentine belt
spare ujoints
spare tie rod
change of clothes in a dry bag to suit the season
food and water
lifestraw
first aid
fire extinguisher
lighter
poncho
flashlights
handsaw
tire repair kit
fluids (engine oil, coolant etc.)
before I had my cb radio I brought a handheld
recovery gear
tree savers (x2)
typically just one snatch block. If I'm alone I bring two
tow and recovery rope
if I'm alone I have this recovery anchor that can be buried or put around a rock
repair clamps (steel cable right now, putting synthetic on soon)
Sometimes I'll bring a torch
Always have pb blaster...
air compressor
spare winch remote
GPS
phone charger
jumper cables and a portable jump pack
work gloves
welding rods
spare fuses
spare wire
duct tape
electrical tape
the all-important zip ties

I'll stop now but there's probably more lol. There's a lot of crap in there! Most of this stuff is always in my Jeep except for food. I'll add/subtract recovery gear and some tools based on the trip. I should add a backpack in case I'm alone and need to hike out. I have a dry bag with shoulder straps, I should swap that with my current Jeep dry bag.

We have a deal when we ride dirt bikes- these are fast, long and sometimes technical rides- you show up with air in the tires, tank full, chain maintained and the bike ready, or we don’t ask them back- too many rides ruined due to that thoughtless carelessness.
