Savvy gas tank skid backorder

This is serious business. Straighten up man.

I got a shipping notice for my gas tank skid and steering skid - woo hoo! Now if the mid-arm kit, springs, and engine skids would ship, I'd be home free. I haven't ordered corner armor, yet, so that's next.

How long have you been waiting? No such shipping notice for me for some of the same parts. Lol.

I feel like the only option is to give up your money and wait. Savvy makes great parts and No one speaks highly enough of the other options for me to consider them for gas tank skids. Plus my experience with the savvy skid has been good despite a few cracked welds from slamming it on the rocks.

I have thought about Genright and Metalcloak for steel sliders and aluminum corner armor. That’s just to get aluminum where and while I can and not have to tie up funds and wait. However, wanting to stay light has me rethinking those choices, I guess We will see.

If you’re wanting to stay light, the undercover fab skid plate is 2/3 the weight of the savvy, and it’s in stock so you won’t have to play their bullshit games.

I have the savvy gas tank skid and I currently run the UCF aluminum engine and extra clearance transmission/transfer case skid. Its held up great and has taken a lot of abuse. I have no complaints other than wanting a stand alone crossmember so I can drop the skid without supporting the drivetrain.
It’s also a POS and isn’t properly braced like savvy.
I can’t comment on the UCF gas tank skid but I do like my Savvy tank skid, even though I have cracked some of the aluminum welds.

To be fair, the weight difference is the fact that the UCF skid doesn't have a separate cross-member. Which, happens to also be steel. The UCF skid bolts to the existing frame holes, just like a stock skid. If you added a stand alone cross-member, as @Lax22 mentioned, the weight would be comparable.

Nice, they've shipped late December to mid March orders so far in the last few days!
