A lesson learned—keep it light and nimble!

If you keep holding onto it, you’ll probably eventually get what you want out of it.
My plan is to keep it as it is through the Summer, then make a decision in the Fall whether to start pulling parts. I'm really trying to avoid that, as much as possible. It would have been nice to put the tub armor on I have, but that doesn't make sense now.

I'm still planning to sell it. However, that's going to take time. In all likelihood, I'm going to have to pull a bunch of parts and lower the price. I just can't bring myself to do that just yet and have a few wheeling trips planned over the summer. My plan is to get some enjoyment out of all the work done!

I think it is great that you will get to enjoy the TJ, even if only for a shortish time. You have done such a great job with it that selling without getting to use it would be really harsh.

I bought three of these and installed one in the LJ, then one in the TJ. For the TJ I mounted it on the bottom of the plastic center windshield trim. Awesome addition and inexpensive!

In preparation for the upcoming wheeling trip I bored out the last JT wheel I recently picked up and mountedthe spare M/T tire. The delay was due to finding a 5th matching wheel for the spare. The JTs come with four aluminum wheels and a steel spare.

Fortunately, I was able to get a second set of 5 for $100. This means I can beat the crap out of the wheels and not care. Swapping tires can be a pain, but I'm only $500 into a set of new trail tires. These could also be used on the LJ, should it ever get wheeled.

Had two individuals come look at the Jeep today. What the hell is wrong with people? One tells me "it's got high miles and worth 1/2 what I'm asking'. The other, knowing full well it has 31" tires, tells me "for that price I'd expect larger tires". He then offers me $5k less than my asking price. 🤬

“I know what I got/want”

“Pay it or fuck off”

Sounds to me like they don’t deserve to own such a well sorted TJ!

Talked it over with the wife, before drilling holes. She agreed that selling it wasn't a priority. The agreement was balance, so progress on the green Jeep will be slow.

Needless to say, holes are now drilled for the passenger side. Holes were painted, nutserts are in, and two heavy coats of wax were applied under where the corner will go. Because it's covered, I didn't waste much time on neatly painting under the hinges. It's protected and that's all I care about.

Couldn't be happier with the results. Took my time, checked and rechecked, filed the edges of the armor panels, taped the top and sides, and did it the way I knew it should be done. Everything fits and lines up like it should.

I did end up replacing two of the tailgate hinge torx bolts with grade 8 hex head bolts. I did think about drilling the hinge to counter sink the other two, but decided it wasn't worth it.

I still need to add the rub rail, but will wait until the other side is done.
