Finally got around to upgrading the interior light in my TJ to an LED and fixing the door switches so now the lights and warning sounds with the doors open all work perfectly!

Question now is, has anyone installed a bypass switch so that I can disable these functions quickly and easily without having to pop the glovebox open and remove the fuse? I was hoping there was a remote switch with an inline fuse that would pop straight into that mini fuse holder but no luck so far. I can always butcher a fuse and solder some wires to it once its popped and use that as the connection point but thought there might be a more elegant option...

I wired up my own homemade harness to an extra factory fog switch which was easy to get to in the OEM spot under the radio, but I realized I used it so infrequently I decided to use the spot for something else instead and put it back in the glovebox.

I wanted it to match the other factory switches, so i got a factory looking dome light switch, wire it up with an inline fuse into the fuse slot that the fuse for the door switch is, and that’s it. Works great

I too did the wiring to the fuse holder and installed a micro rocker switch on the side lip of the glove box opening and is visible when you open the glove box door.

I installed one switch per side on the ends of the dashboard as shown here on the driver's side. I cut one of the door light switch wires and spliced in the switch.

My truck has a 3 position switch OFF - AUTO - ON that allows you to keep the interior lights on or off or let the door switches control them.
That works well
