So, I picked up a 3D printer a couple of months ago and have been learning how to use it and trying my hand a 3D modeling. I am super new to all of this, but am having fun learning.
The TJ always seems to be short on storage, so I made a small storage box that fits behind the roll bar at the back right side of the bed. I don't have carpet, so I modeled the bottom of the box with a notch for the roll bar plate and some recesses to glue strong magnets so it would stay in place. The lid is held on with 4 small magnets and some glued in steel washers. It is nothing special, and definitly falls into the "functional print" category.
I keep a rolled up trash bag, some straps a soft shackle and a pair of gloves in there. Just stuff I always seem to need quickly and takes up too much room in the glove box.
I printed it with PLA plus, so summer heat with the top off may be an issue, but we will see what happens. I can always reprint it in a more heat resistant plastic once I upgrade the printer with an all metal hotend.
Anybody else here into the 3D printer thing?
