Looking For Insight On MasterTwill Soft-Top For 2006 LJ

It's a soft top... it is gonna be noisy.
This is true to a certain extent. The frameless soft tops tend to generate a lot more noise than the o.e. design.
The o.e tops on my old tj and my current lj were much quieter than my trektop and my current mastertop.

How long did the oem top last? That’s how long a Bestop soft top will last because it’s OEM.

How long a top last depends on how it is taken care of, and the elements that it's exposed too. I've seen a well taken care of Rampage top last 8 years.
I've seen o.e. soft tops that only lasted a couple years. The replace a top on my tj lasted 5 years and it was well taken care of.

.
All of TJ/LJ came with a sailcloth soft top after year 2000.
Bestop has lifetime warranty if it ever rips they would replace it no question asked. Same goes for windows.

Bestop customer service has always been top notch, but the only products they offer a lifetime warranty on is the pro and ultra twill tops.
Your Trektop NX in sailcloth has a 5 year warranty. And it's not a no questions asked warranty. if it's a defect in workmanship, they will take care of it.

Twill pattern. The Trilogy material is supposedly thicker than any sailcloth and the best 3 year warranty on the market. My Bestop was leaking bad at the rear seams and this under $300 top has been much better than the cheap ass tops like RC and Shittybilt.

I think the Twill material looks so much nicer. It was kind of a no brainer for me to go back to the MasterTwill top. I sold my Trektop for almost what I paid.
The Mastertop was $499.00 plus 10% off.

I misused my trektop soft top sunrider feature I just used to throw it back without a care in the world. Sometimes I even used to forget to latch the top to the windshield and the top will just fold back violently around 30-40mph. It ended up ripping my soft top. I contacted Bestop and they sent me a new one.
There has been cases where the soft top warranty expires and Bestop still replaced a forums member soft top. You can find that thread on this forum.

I am a proponent for inexpensive tops... cuz they are really consumables in my eyes, like a tire is a consumable.

The Sierra Offroad tops... at $200 or less.... are The best value in my opinion.

It doesn't leak... fits well... and so far I have been getting 4 years outta them. Rear zippers are the fail points for me.

Just an idea on the cheap end of the spectrum.

Ps... they also have the metallic khaki color.

I wouldn't trust a $200 replacement top past one season. Guaranteed to be a cheap thin/loud-noisy top that will make you wish you had ear plugs.

I am on my 2nd set in 8 yrs... it works.

If it is taut, especially in the center velcro.... the noise is not any different than oem.

Yes, this is the least expensive, noisiest option. (All soft tops are noisy)

Go into this knowing soft tops are consumable... 4-5 years of hard use for me.

There are better quality tops, though this is the best value, imo.

The Bestop Sailcloth is OEM, Bestop provides all Jeep soft top products and they use Sailcloth.

I have had an oem soft top and the cheap Sierra offroad top, no hardtop.

If the sierra offroad top is properly installed... the difference in noise between the oem soft top (bestop) and cheap sierra offroad top is not significant.

I haven’t owned a Sierra off-road soft top. I did buy a shittybilt one and it was shit material sucked, noisy as hell, poor fitment.
I sold it in less than a week. That top was around $200 also.
So i stay away from all $200 replacement soft tops. I know the quality isn’t even going to be close with Bestop.

I agree.. that paying more will get you a better product.

The point I am making is value based, which is subjective.

The cheap sierra offroad performs better than expected. Noise levels are on par with OEM soft tops, if fitted properly.

I only recommend this route if you view your soft top as a consumable. With expectations to replace every few years.

My soft tops go thru harsh abuse, with little to no maintenance. (Some 303 once in awhile)
