I've been chasing my loose steering wheel for the last year now, and have not found any way to fix it.

I have replaced the steering box with a psc big bore, lower steering shaft, hydro ram, currie steering.

However I still have the issue seen in the video below. I have seen the issue popup on many different threads without any real solutions as to what could be causing this. The issue is the steering wheel and steering shaft turn without any movement on the pitman arm.

I have no idea how to fix this and may have to just resolve to "its a jeep thing"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See video for what I'm talking about

Check the steering universal joint for wear that joins the steering column shaft with the steering box input shaft.

Any believe people struggle finding this. I have fixed this TWICE on street Jeeps.

On the upper steering shaft that comes out of the firewall, you will see a rubber boot. Pull that rubber boot back and you’ll see a slip shaft, this wallows out with time and creates the worst slop I’ve ever dealt with. Column made rattling noises over the smallest terrain. All slop was resolved after I took the upper intermediate shaft to a rebuilder, they put it on their hydraulic press and tightened it back up for me. I never had either Jeep long enough to see how long till it opens back up. But I am about the do the same thing for the third time :-/ on my new LJ.
