North Carolina List of Carolinian off-roaders

It feels like On inclines, I have to smash my brake pedal to stay where I’m at, yet, I still have some roll and lose my spot or my advantage on a rock. I feel like bigger/stronger brakes would eliminate this and I have BMB rotors and pads.

I'm tracking with you. That sounds frustrating. My brakes aren't great either but I have stock rotors and pads in the front and drums in the back that left the party a long time ago. I found a kit the other day that had a complete rebuild for front and rear including calipers. I'm probably going to buy once I have a drivetrain again.

Anyone planning on going Saturday? Might go Saturday morning and bring my 13yo son. We have yet to put the LJ on the trails since the build.

I'm not, hopefully next week sometime tho, one of my friend s has a stock 3rd gen 4runner and wants to hit a few trails.

Ended up going yesterday. Made a quick trail buddy as it was his first time as well. We did the bunny trails and then did Dickey Bell, backwards. Not intentional as I had no clue what we were doing. Made it though.

I planned to go Saturday but the wife reminded me our anniversary was that day…lol, I told her she could come. She said ok but knew she’d be pissed if I took her to Uwharrie on our anniversary. Haha.
Maybe next weekend.I’ll try again.

What's going on with the A/C? I don't know a shop but can try to help.

My mother in-law owned this Jeep since new. She had it worked on every year it seems in the summer.

When I took it over it would blow hot air. I decided to add a can of Freon with the dye to try to find a leak. I come up short, but have 0 knowledge of AC work.

It blew cold for a little while. One of the oddest things was, the blower box under the dash was getting so much condensation on it, it was dripping on the floor. Also, if you turn it on just dash, the floor vents are on to.

I can help if you like. Sounds like some issues with vacuum mixing and some issues with the blower.

Alrighty folks, I will be heading down to Uwharrie this Friday for a day trip, I will definitely be hitting dickey bell and the backside of Daniel, along with dutch John and a few other mild ones.
Anyone interested in joining?

Thanks! I've learned so much from this site. I'm a new amateur mechanic and I'm sure I'll be leaning on the members here when I start to build. Hoping I can meet some of you on the trail too. Charleston doesn't have much to offer off road but it's always fun to take the top and doors off and ride to the beach

Nice! Sometimes I wish the beach wasn’t 2.5 hrs away, otherwise I’d take the Jeep there more often.
