Arizona Rock Crawling Daily Driver

I’ve got my work cut out for me for a while. Can’t thank Blaine enough for cutting me a deal on this sweet pile of loot, teaching me what to do with it, and taking extra time to round up random odds and ends. Always a pleasure getting to visit the Black Magic garage!

So a Dana 44 , some foxy shocks and some gears. What could possibly be happening.

Dana 44 and Revolution gears with Dana 35 written on the box 🤣. What is happening?!

I’m a bit jealous of visiting Blaine. I’d love to do that someday. I try to leave him alone by never calling him, but he seems to enjoy talking and meeting people. 👍🏼

To be fair, that isn't a deal I made. That is my friend Chris who did that for you. All I did was ask him how much, tell you that price and then collect his money from you to give to him. The hardest work I did was operating the button on the air jack.

Thanks for picking up my shocks. I'll send you a shipping label tomorrow, 😂

One good deed begets another.

I hope I can develop more relationships like you do, Blaine.

Excited to see the next phase of your build and your journey with good shocks.

The plan is this. I already talked about doing the rear midarm a few months ago. I’ve been hesitant to commit to it because ideally, the Dana 35 wasn’t my forever axle that I wanted to waste my savvy truss on. One trip to Blaine’s later and I was heading home with a
Dana 44, gears, ARB locker (excited to have a selectable rear!) 12” resi shocks for the rear and 11.5” shocks for up front. I’ll be doing the axle swap, midarm, and outboard shocks together.

Aside from the obvious stuff, I am super excited about the front shocks I got. They are 11.5” travel, but are bolt in shocks with an eyelet on bottom and stem mount on top. If you remember correctly, my front axle has outboard shock lower mounts on it from the PO. This made my 10.7” rancho shocks way too short. These front shocks should fit much better, give me more travel, and they are tuned! I don’t think they make these anymore so this was a great score to fit my unique setup.

Me too! I really don’t know what to expect. I rode in Chris’s jeep after the outboard over some quick fire roads but that’s about it

I hope the current owner is enjoying that rig. Blaine did fantastic work on it. What were your impressions on that drive, if you still remember anything?

Your plan is sound and you have Blaine to guide you and the Colorado Krew's videos for some reference. I guarantee that those tuned shocks will change your worldview.
