Show me how you secure your hood

I am looking to come up with a solution to secure (lock) my hood. Shipping costs for parts from the US have been very high for a while, now the pound has weakened against the dollar. Net result is getting anything shipped from the US will be silly expensive for what it is. So I am hoping others who have put a DIY solution in place can share what they have done.

A cable and lock would work fine for that job. Using a vinyl covered cable would help reduce/stop noise it could cause.

Interested to see what people have thought up. An unlocked hood could definitely be inviting to theft

When I had my CJ7, I simply ran a small chain and a padlock. The padlock hung just below the hood release.

I rarely leave my valuables under the hood.

p.s. I bought a Jeep with key hood locks. Biggest PITA to lock.

I once had a product that hooked onto the latch and had a lock on it. Pain in the butt to open and I removed it. That was back when I frivolously wanted to buy everything in the catalog for my Jeep.

Maybe reconsider if you really need to lock your hood?

They look it, I do like the look of the factory ones.
If I wanted a lock, maybe something inside the grill that isn't too visible

I haven't done my DIY highline yet, but got the hood latches on in preparation. These are Aerocatch. They also have a lockable version. The Stetion look to be an easier install than what I had to do.
