Gear pattern check

I am curious what @hosejockey61 says, but from what I have seen around the forum that looks a bit too deep. How are you providing pressure on the ring gear as you run these tests? The patterns are a bit fuzzy still.

i agree i'd like to hear. since i basically went against his opinion.

i think it's closer now , if it were deep i'd expect more of a flat line on the inside/bottom of that football shape and more/some witness at the top edge of both sides. seeing some of those rub off teeth really tells a better tale.

i'd clean all the goo off paint 3 teeth crank it and get a pic of them and the 5-6 you didn't paint to either sides rub off.

Im using a block of wood and a glove that is rubber now. I was going to either remove the 2.7 and send it or leave it here the only thing is it might put the pattern too high on the heel?

Sorry guys, been cutting cars up all day teaching extrication.

What brand gears are these?

Your very last pattern, the coast side looks like it should be good, but hard to tell with the drive. If you're a LP30 then I would say it's good to button up since you want to favor the coast side. If you are HP30, then I would try to find your too deep and too shallow points and work it in from there.

If you have the shim and patience to split the difference try it but Mike is correct the the coast side on a LP front is the one to pay closest attention to and it is not horrible.

In addition.....clean off the paint with brake cleaner and then repaint just three teeth. Paint it with just enough to cover the teeth, don't glob it on. run it and post another picture.

The gears are nitro gears and it is a low pinion 30. Im gonna run it i went .0018 thou shallower to try and get a better drive side.

I personally would, but it's up to you at this point. You're probably good either way, I just don't like the crappy pattern wipe. It's difficult to see anything clearly.

I wanna say thankyou to everyone who helped me out today ive spent two weeks messing with it learning what does what and all that. I went back to the previous pattern and the final assembly turned out really good.
Funny thing is i did the first clutch job and super slip yoke eliminator job the same day.
Thank you @hosejockey61 @Blackjack @someguysjeep @rasband
