I am getting exhaust in my coolant. No coolant in the oil. No oil in the coolant. I used one of the testers that the fluid changes colors. Tried several times it changed everytime.
Not to familiar with the head on these. Does anyone know if this is more likely to be a cracked head or blown gasket? Thanks

Could be either. The 0331 head (2000-2002?) have been known to crack. The only real way to find out is pull it down and have the head checked.
How much boost are you running?
One other suggestion, being since you're removing the head get yourself a set of ARP head bolts or studs.

About 9 lb of boost. I will probably just get a new head. Wouldn't hurt to do an upgrade with blower anyway. I

It's a CRACKHEAD:poop: or gasket-basket case

Any chance a cracked head or blown gasket can cause increased IAT's? I've had high intake Temps. I just ordered a new clearwater head

Can anyone interpret this as a bad gasket? I

yeah, definitely a gasket failure at cylinder 1. Not only is the gasket deformed on the passenger side but that piston looks like it's been getting some steam cleaning compared to the others.

Not sure what the brown sludge is exactly but I'm not enough of a chemist to know what sort of chemical reaction there could be between coolant and exhaust, somebody's mixed incompatible coolant types, or whether it might just be some corrosion.

Take a closer look at your second photo. It's pretty obvious, and the reason for my rhetorical comment. Thought you might have been messin' with us :)

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. I purchased a new head but I'm guessing my old one is fine. The only problem I was having was exhaust in the coolant and crazy high IAT'S going put the new head on wrap my ARH and see how she runs. Thanks again.
