I've been in research mode on these seats for a while. I would love to replace my seats with these. I have a couple of questions, you might be able to answer...

  • You don't run the rear seat, so you might not know this.. Does Corbeau make a rear seat cover to match the front Tailcats? I still have my rear seat in and plan to keep it, but the mismatch would drive me nuts.
  • Do you think you can be ok with these on a DD?
  • I have a 2000. One of the first (and favorite) comfort mods I did was seat risers. Sounds like the seat brackets for the Tailcats would eliminate the need for the risers if I want the same height as what I have now?
  • Any reason you can see why I couldn't use the drivers side underseat security box if it fits now with the stock brackets?

Pretty sure the bracket swap is different on the 2000. Never saw a tire carrier that opened the opposite way. Pretty cool. I can see a benefit if you're doing an overland setup with a fold down table and such on both sides in a U shape. And the locker on the pivot is genius.

Unrelated.. how do you like the round side view mirrors? I run the quick release A-pillar brackets year round with shortened arms and a convex rectangle mirror. Been doing that for years. Contemplating round convex mirrors just for a retro look.

I don't think they have a matching rear (I didn't look ) but you can pick up black neoprene or vinyl seat covers pretty easy. Round mirrors keep me legal but I hate them, cant see sh%t. The Jeep isn't my DD but I do drive it a lot. So far these have been more comfortable on every level. Just got them this week, wheeling first time tomorrow. If you keep the flip it should have the same effect as your risers. I want a drivers security box, kicking myself for not doing it while they were out... don't see any reason they wouldn't fit. That locker on my bumper gets used almost as much as my steering wheel haha

i put in XRS's this last week... adapter bracket added an inch and the seat pad seems to add several inches. I either cannot push back as far, or the seat backs are thicker like the bottom of the seat but i feel closer to the steering wheel... height is ok and am getting use to it. feeling like I am eating the wheel a bit.

They make a rear fold and tumble that will match just no diamond stitch on it, about$330 ish

Did you pull the trigger yet? I’ve been super happy with them

I have not. Planned for the spring. I have too many home projects in the works 😳😳

I haven’t come across only one negative review. And that was a wear issue..

I put these in my 04. I love them super comfortable, install was surprisingly easy. I sprung for the seat heaters too. Super happy with the purchase.
