crossing a river the jeep goT Water logged
now if I shut it down it does not start
getting power radio etc
no click from starter
my light r flicking on and off
can be popped started and stays running

Please fill out your profile so we know what year and type of Jeep we're dealing with, modifications wouldn't hurt either.

Why anyone would think it was a good idea to drive their Jeep through a river is beyond me.

Having said that, let it dry out thoroughly before getting to into things. In fact, I'd let it sit out in the sun and even get a hair dryer maybe and dry it out for a fe days before diving into things.

After that you're going to need to break out the multimeter most likely.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the profile info. I'd say the starter solenoid may need some drying out. If it's the headlights, turn signals or marker lights then it may be local to that lights socket which is probably wet. Eventually it will most likely dry out and start working normally.

Recon how fast and how deep will dictate how much you need to pull apart and dry out. Better check the gear boxes and diffs too for water intrusion. BTW this swimming lesson the same trip the T case exploded or whatever happened?? You get it moving again?

Me after 2 hurricane floods, a few river crossings and countless waist deep trail holes

@double_e you still have water sitting somewhere, lights doing their own thing has always been a side effect for me.

Like others have said, let it dry out. You can waste a lot of time trying to find something that might fix itself.
Then grab a copy of the FSM from here to look at the wiring diagrams.

Please tell us @double_e doesn't stand for Electrical Engineer :)

I lost alternator charging after a wet run. Figured it was fried so shot gunned a new alternator at it, nope same problem. A connector got water in it so pcm couldn't command it on.
