My wife lost her wallet with a book of my business checks and $1000 cash at a a fireworks display Monday night and when she found it it was cleaned out- I was upset beyond belief because it made me go into panic mode and have to start all sorts of measures protecting the business account from these unscrupulous people-

This carried on into Tuesday and I was just fit to be tied because I don’t want anything else to complicate a business that is already hard enough- Construction has the highest failure rate of any business in America except restaurants.

Tuesday morning I’m looking for something for a customer at a hardware store that has cats and this big Tom cat came over just asking to be petted- Then he farted on me.

I figured out once that happens things just pretty much go uphill from there.

Similar but it was an ex SIL that borrowed the last two pages of business checks. Also how I found out the hard way that it is only forgery if you press charges.

Man, man - That reminds me of swerving to miss a car a years ago and I hit another guy- The car had pulled out directly in front of me- In Alabama if you don’t hit that vehicle he gets to drive away free- He caused the accident but was liable for nothing.

There are a lot of technicalities that us regular guys just don’t know that can really matter later-

I’ve got one going right now with Workmen’s Comp. and there is a diispute over $60,000 and ideally the fact that I did not sign something is going to work in my favor- But everybody hopes that going into something like this

If you want to take your rig to any auto shop in CA and get all the work done for free, dealership, etc.? Just distract the service writer while he is filling out the work order so he forgets to fill out the VIN and mileage section. Call the BAR on the way to pick it up and you don't have to pay.

Lord the rules out there-

Sorry to hear about your predicament AndyG. It seems that common decency is on the same path as common sense these days (per Will Rogers, "it ain't common"). I'll never understand how someone can sleep at night after doing something like that...

Parked our work van over night in the hotel parking lot. Next morning the headlamp, bumper and fender are damaged. Guy took off and left some shards of his taillight on the ground.
Can you believe it, the hotel has no cameras on the premises.
Now we have to cover the deductible for the insurance to get it fixed and likely a higher premium…
