What did you do to your TJ today?

OK I dealt with this recently-

There is a change in the diameter of the vacuum line fittings somewhere around 05-06 so not all of them will change over

One is smaller and you immediately lose vacuum

I had to take the vacuum line attachment off the back of my old switch and put it on my new one- Then everything work

I also had a little cheap vacuum tool that I got from Harbor freight that I used to check each vacuum circuit

If you have cruise you can just see if your cruise control works and if it does not you’re probably losing back him somewhere

A good example would be cruise works only at high speed when it’s getting enough vacuum or it doesn’t work at all

I have read about the new switches and the hose diameters being different. I did not swap the mode switch. All I did was removed the fan switch out of the new panel and swap it into my old panel. The po swapped the auto trans out and put in a nsg370 so no more CC but now that I think of it I noticed a vacuum line just laying around the engine bay that was not capped off (open). Maybe it went to CC before the swap? Should I cap it with a plug? Thanks Andy for your help.

Yes-

And you can go over there to the T at the firewall behind the battery and see if you’re getting any vacuum Plus you have some little check valves on there, they are circular that can go defective- It’s a real simple system if you’ll be persistent I think you can get it working and typically the vacuum actuators don’t go bad that are under the dash

You can actually move the levers with your hand and get the air to move normally and it’s also surprising how little vacuum it takes to make all that work

The one you’re looking at is either down at your feet or behind the glove box to the right behind the speaker

The little deal that is electric above your left shin under the glove box kind of horizontally is the heat blend door and it’s not a factor on air going to different locations , just controls the amount of hot air mixed with cold

Replaced all 4 O2 sensors the other day, hoping to get rid of my p0174 code and also maybe improve my fuel efficiency a little. Neither happened, but at least I have peace of mind and it was a relatively enjoyable install

My stock skid had to be pryed around to get the holes to line up. They're not that rigid.

Mine has been bent so many times. The rollover tweaked the frame which in turn tweaked the skid. I put it back in my press and got it close. I had to open up the holes just a little. Since I went with a crossmember, I reinforced the inside of the skid with 1/4" angle iron. Doesn't bend as easily now.

I’m not sure how your set up, but I was dealing with some of the same stuff and got a harbor freight scanner that reads live data- And started learning about fuel trim- Basically those codes are the computer telling the injector to apply more or less fuel-

It will open your eyes up to how to chase it -

Thanks I will check the actuators and check valves also.
 
He has been that way since I met him, if you're feeling low, a phone call to @AndyG will have you feeling better in no time.

He probably has the most positive outlook on life of anyone I know!!!!! He and @Hog are always looking at the glass half full, while most of us are looking at it half empty!!!

You know that Is an analogy we’ve all heard-

They say that a realist says either way somebody has to wash the glass.

When I was young if the glass was half full it meant there was still room for alcohol ....

Now I contend that you don’t need to break the glass or you’re gonna be drinking out of a paper cup- And what I mean by that is look out for yourself in a healthy way- Build a network of friends and make good decisions and make the best out of life that you can- You really are the architect of your own reality. You will have to live in the world that you create.

One thing that concerns me in the modern age is I see people that look out for themselves to the point they hurt themselves- takers. I had a worker that was making over $2000 a week and even had a checkbook to write their own check...But they kept on looking out for number one till they stepped in a big pile of number two.
