Does unicorn jizz not count as grease? Seriously though, metalcloak does recommend greasing. That allows the joint to rotate in the housing, vs a JJ where the ball rotates in the bushing.

(Insert lots of sarcasm)….Matson said in the video we didn’t need to!!!!

Ok in reality,I don’t disagree with you, probably for the better but it’s a pretty low maintenance until replacement joint. I haven’t greased them in 10k and they’re still quiet and in decent shape (no tears / separation).

If I was going to buy new control arms, it would probably be location dependent based on soil type, exposure to road salt, etc.

I took apart my MC control arms for some reason after 20k miles and the joints looked good. At 60-70k they were dry as a bone, torn, and the spherical ball had fallen out. If I dont switch to Johnny joints, I'll probably pull my MC joints every 1-2 years and put MC jizz on them

I cant believe that outboards shocks is even being mentioned..just enjoy the jeep as is for a while before you go down the rabbit hole..chances are you will either hate it or realize what a finicky rig they are and sell it.

I would come back in six months and then we can talk about lift and 35's..

I have a few JJs that haven't had much, if any, service in a similar amount of miles. I added a couple thin washers to pack the races tighter, added grease, and they are good as new for about $3.50 a joint.
