So im running a 35 spare tire and the weight is pulling the carrier away from the tail gate. Aside from replacing the hinges and getting a new tailgate, does anyone have any other ideas. The bolts are seized on so I cannot remove the hinge bolts. Much thanks

You need to look into a different tire carrier like the ones that bolt to the tailgate hinge area and are supported in more areas than just the tailgate. Do you have the rubber bumpers installed? That might help some but a 35 is just too much weight for just the tailgate alone to carry

I've stripped a couple screws for the tailgate so the hinges aren't going anywhere unfortunately

They will come off just need to drill the head off and the remainder will sometimes spin out with your fingers

Since you're going to get a new tailgate, get a MorRyde Tailgate Reinforcement Kit (JP54-022). Best investment for that 35" spare.

That's exactly what I bought but I need to remove current hinges and there 20 years old, screws won't budge and I've tried everything so I ended up returning it

35'S Have a bit of weight! one of mine weighs in a 98 lbs.
That's quite a lot to ask of the little tail gate.

I would be looking for a carrier bumper.
