I found a used Warn Powerplant for sale and know nothing about them except they seem to be a winch with a built in compressor that runs off of the winch motor. I can see this as a useful tool, but have never heard of it. I am hoping someone can tell me if it is worth $400.00 or if I should just keep looking. It appears to be in good shape, but it has had the wires cut off that will have to be replaced and that also means I can't tell what is or isn't working. Any insight would be appreciated.

FWIW, I've never owned one, but do know people who have. They are large, heavy, and prone to compressor issues. From what I've been told by those that owned them, parts are no longer available for the compressor. You'd be better off finding something with a lower profile, that performs one function, a winch.

Thanks, I think you're right so I passed on it. Sure sounded like a good idea, to bad it never worked as well as it should.
