Sure, my other business specializes in manufacturing for the defense industry. As such we have 3D scanners and coordinate measuring arms, the software and some decently large machines. All that to say measuring, designing and cutting an adapter plate for an old Jeep won't be too difficult. I will document the process when I get to that step.

One of the parts they were cutting the other day:

Wow that’s great. Yes that equipment would make an adapter easy to make. Will you be entertaining the thought of making more than 1 adapter?

I compared the 6r80 to the w5a580 and noted that the 2nd overdrive on the 6r80 is identical to the 42rle. I’m guessing with the turbo that ratio might actually be useful to you, naturally aspirated I’ve found the gear to be worthless. The first gear is great at over 4:1!

Of course. I almost never make just one of anything. All that being said if anyone has any technical drawings of either of them I won't turn away the help.

I picked up another one from a salvage yard. It is a low mileage unit out of an Expedition with a 5.4. I also bought a 32rh flex plate as I will probably use that as part of the adapter. I guess it's safe to say that I am moving forward with the swap. I also called Advance Adapters and had them change my Atlas order to the 6R80 input and adapter. My Atlas was due to ship at the end of next month, however they indicated that due to delays it will probably be closer to December.
