Is the receiver on the end of the drive shaft a single piece or two pieces?

Is the receiver on the end of the drive shaft where the CV slinger goes a single piece or two pieces? When I disassembled the rubber boot was falling apart but some of it was stuck on so I pulled the remaining rubber off. It looks like there was a metal ring at the base which is not letting the new boot to press on. It has a metal ring also but before I mangle a perfectly good drive shaft can someone give me a heads up. Thanks Jim

Thanks, with some light tapping it popped right off and got the new one installed. Now I have both front and rear drive shafts rebuilt including new differential pinion seals and fluid. Next up changing Transfer case and tranny fluids. This is my first jeep since high school some 53 years ago...old retired fart having fun in my garage.
