Tie rod hitting swaybar link mount

Okay guys so I'm new to jeeps and decided to help a buddy with a 6in long arm lift kit from rough country. While we were there we replaced all tie rods and the drag link but it's hitting the passenger side steering damper/sway bar link mount? I've taken it on and off several times trying to make adjustments to pull the axle back but it's not much help. Any suggestions?

Sorry I don’t have an answer for you but will “bump” the post.

I wonder if the axle is too far forward after adding the new control arms? If they are adjustable, perhaps shorten them a bit?

is this at ride height or drooped out? There are some threads around here talking about this issue when fully drooped, but the general consensus is that full droop and hard right isn't really something that happens in real life.

If it's at ride height though, that's not good. Not many running 6" of lift around here, but that may be contributing to the issue.

It's pretty much full droop, I'll try throwing the wheels on and setting it on the ground

No need for that if you just put some stands under the axle and let the frame down.

Okay so I've got the weight fully on the front end and it gained quite a bit of clearance but I'm still hitting the bracket. I had tried placing the inner tie rod on the outside of the putter but I'm guessing it's tapered and only fits the one direction

Yeah, only fits one way.

How married are you to the 6" lift? Most folks around here, myself included, go with a 4" suspension plus 1.25" body to get the clearance needed for 35s. Past 4" starts creating a lot of issues, like this one, that start getting expensive to solve.

Rockjock makes a steering system called the Currectlync that I've heard has some extra bend in the drag link to get it farther from the axle but I don't have one. My stocker hits but only if both sides are drooped out. 2" more ride height would just mean 2" less down travel before hitting that point.

He can add bend to what he has.
