Savvy Mid-Arm Deliveries?

Today's clown world is just that, a fucking clown world. Anytime some fuckwit puts up a used, reasonably good condition AEV TJ hood for sale with a price of 2200 dollars, it is fucked and not getting better at all. There is a large contingent of folks who are fully enamored with Nemesis. We just installed a set of their high line fenders. When the owner saw the bullshit we were having to deal with, we removed them and put them back in the box. This is the hood gap on a typical high line hood we use. It is correct with only very minor mods needed to make it fit. The fenders are at the upper limit of the slots at the firewall.

This is after slotting the holes to move the fender higher.

The front of the fender is way too high but we could have fixed that. The two things we can NOT fix are the goofy lack of real estate to mount anything.

And almost the worst part, they have a complex battery tray with a very specific hold down that has a tab into a slot on one side and bolts down on the other. In their infinite short sighted wisdom and being full on shit fucking designers, they made it fit ONLY an Optima battery with no other options. The two components of the mount and tray are so complex and convoluted that you can't modify the Optima version and depend on the strength.

The final straw that put them back in the box was having to cut the Savvy aluminum backer and also trim back the steel slider.

What highline has the best fitment? I was going to choose Nemesis but after this post I am backing out.

If you have massive amounts of time to fiddle fuck with fenders, and are cutting your own hood, you can make the Nemesis work. I'm just not interested. GR fit pretty good but you will still need some patience. Their inner fender kit could be heavier material. That was the ONLY thing I liked about the Nemesis fenders. I won't ever do another set of Nemesis or Poison Spyder. The lack of real estate to mount stuff is just too much to deal with.

Personal favorite so far is Crawltec. A bit more for less than 40's though.

Thanks, DougyintheBushies. That's helpful to me! It appears that the steel weldments are the holdup with the mid-arm kit. Either that, or my kit will ship soon...

I hope yours ships soon. I guess this is why there’s so many mixed feeling toward Savvy. Some wait months while some wait weeks. Although mine aren’t here yet.Good luck.

Did your kit ship yet? I ordered the front truss back on 7/21 and it shipped out on 8/5. That was way faster than I thought it would take. Now it's just going to sit on the shelf. I hope they had a run of mid-arm stiff and yours will be to you sooner rather than later.

Thanks for thinking of me, sjalkian - much appreciated! No, I've not heard a word from Savvy, but hopefully your order shipping is the start of a trend...

Fellers, I'm gonna buy a lottery ticket on my way home. My mid-arm kit shipped today - exactly seven months to the day since I ordered it!

Only one last outstanding Savvy order for now - the engine/transmission skid.
