Any chance that a backseat from a JK or JL (2-door) will fit in a TJ? I've seen seen a video of someone putting in FRONT seats from a JK, but not sure about backseats. Are they too wide? Different brackets? Non fold-n-tumble? Other? Or easy swap?

The rear seats from a 4-door are definitely too wide to fit in a TJ... the wheel wells are in the way.
I'm also told that the rear seats from a 2-door are too wide to fit in the back of a TJ as well, but I'm unsure what part doesn't fit, the base, the back, or both.

As was said, you can adapt the JK upper part to the TJ lower. However, when you do you lose the fold-n-tumble function. This is the set that came with the Jeep I got from @jwilson2899. He had Bartact provide a TJ lower and JK upper seat covers.

I had an early TJ, so I swapped the whole 2 door JK seat. I wanted latch anchors and the higher back with headrests. Takes some modification due to the width, may not be worth the effort compared to an aftermarket seat.

Nice work and much safer option. Wondering if headrests are removable with posts in this seat?

The headrests on the 2 door JK seats are removable. They need to be pulled along with the plastic pieces they slide into to get the cover off to modify the seat frame.

Great to know, I am myself looking at doing this on my 2004 TJ. Any reason you chose not to transfer welded slider bracket from JK frame to TJ frame itself?

Here it is my cunning plan 😆 - Bought the complete JK 2 door seat and will transfer over all the required components including internal brackets for the guides. Idea is to retrofit just like factory using stock Jeep parts 😎.

My wife has a 2 door JK...with a back seat... would be a fun project to build mounts for the TJ so I could swap it back and forth.

I just finished cutting out the wheel wells 3" on either side and fit the whole seat in with no modifications to the seat. I needed a taller back seat because the girls needed seat boosters which were just dangerous with the low lj rear seat.
