We just replaced the AC compressor on the TJ and system charged with no leaks. The problem we are having is the the AC only blows cold through the defrost windshield ducts. No air flow through dash vents. Any thoughts on a fix? Maybe faulty controls? Vacuum leak?

I'm no expert on this, but I believe I've seen other threads in which this problem is associated with a vacuum leak. I would recommend searching the forum for AC vacuum leaks. I seems to remember some helpful pics of the most common locations of a leak.

Need to check the vacuum tubing in the engine compartment and the vacuum that goes thru the firewall that actuates the controls for the floor, windshield defrost and dash/side vents.
No. 2 in the picture below indicates where the vacuum tubing goes thru the firewall for the A/C controls.

I know on my jeep there is a Tee in the vacuum lines just behind the glove box that will pull apart anytime you remove the stereo or Hvac controls. When that happens you only get air out of the defrost vents. It is a simple fix but due to the length of the vacuum lines there's not a lot that can be done to prevent from happening, just need to put it back together after any works is done around the Hvac controls.
