Soft tops that fold all the way down without removal?

Basically I’m looking for something that collapses all the way down at the back, like a typical convertible car would (not the zipper kind). I’d hope to not break the bank but also want a quality top

Thanks!

A regular soft top will go all the way down into the back but NOT like the way I think it is you want. It wont tuck deep into the tailgate area and be unnoticed. And as far as I know there are not any options like that on the market.

Regular = OEM? And if so, where do I find one?

It doesn’t need to go in, but ideally just sit on top of the tailgate and hopefully lower than the rear seats so that it doesn’t become a parachute.

They sell a boot that goes on one that looks really good and you can get the convertible look and there’s a little bit of a method with the factory top that will get pretty far down in there.

I never take mine off - for the relatively short amount of time it’s hot enough in the UK it’s not worth it. It folds pretty tidy with a bit of practice - there’s a knack to it. Absolutely fine like that at highway speeds.

I have a cheap 'window roll' so I can safely take the windows with me in case of British weather.

Two different Jeeps. Both Mopar factory sailcloth. Top picture is my current one with the factory top tucked all the way down. Bottom picture is my last Jeep with the top folded the same way and the boot over it like @AndyG mentioned above.

Here’s a factory video demonstrating how to properly fold the top down. That’s how I learned. Go to the 13:22 mark.

When you say not the zipper kind, not sure I get what you mean. The windows have to come out to lower the top and they zipper in and out.

There is a litany of places you can buy soft tops from but none are OEM most likely. Quadratec, Extreme Terrain, Best Top, all will sell you soft tops for your rig. Some are better than others, Best Top makes very good top but it is more costly as well.

If you need anymore help let me know I will gladly help you out. Install of the top is pretty easy if you have the soft top frame already in place.

For the most part, any framed top will fold back like your asking. Frameless will not fold back, you have to just remove it completely.

Best quality is going to be Bestop, but also most expensive. You get what you pay for.

Otherwise, there are plenty of replace a top (RAT) solutions that aren't as expensive. Might even be worth it to buy an OEM top just for the frame, even if the fabric is ready for the trash.

You want a great soft top that's super easy and quick to lower and raise? Get a miata. For real their tops are fantastic.

The only quick and easy jeep tops are the sunrider style where just the front folds back. Putting the whole top down and back up is a chore.

No joke you are right. I had a 2nd year Miata and to this day by FAR my favorite vehicle ever to drive. The throw in the 5spd trans was short and just amazing. Handled great, could whip the ass out and yes the soft top took about 5 seconds to open
