Savvy LJK

That doesn't really make sense, most (all?) car deliveries have to be driven onto a transport vehicle and then off into the lot. It's not like they just pop them all down in their spots.

Yeah I don’t know the specifics. That’s just what the sales manager told me. Either I misheard or he just doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Do you think Gerald realizes that he'll have to actually respond to inquiries from potential buyers in order to sell it? Or...Maybe now is a good time to call him and ask when my parts will be shipping because he'll be expecting calls on this?

[Sorry - I had to say it, even though this thread will now devolve]

It’s a you get it when you get it deal. He did tell me that they (Jeep) have been dealing with some serious backorders. All of this is of course expected, but he brought up a number of incidents that took place recently that really set them back. One of them was all the train robberies in Los Angeles. He said they ship the keys to the new cars via train and that several of those trains got hit (this was on the news months ago) and with it they lost the keys to thousands of vehicles they had sitting in lots waiting to be delivered.

Unless it’s a 392 I haven’t heard this. Jeep production seems to be picking up. Ford is having issues I think? I’d keep on top of whatever dealership you went through.

My friends parents got their bronco today

After waiting about 18months

The wait is so bad that it's not uncommon to read on those forums about dealers jacking up the price on customer orders once it's delivered. If you won't pay they markup, they'll just sell it to the next guy. They know they've got you since it's not like you're going to wait another year all over again over a few thousand dollars.

That's awful of them. I know Ford is trying to address those crazy dealer markups - at least with the raptor, bronco, and lightening.

They call me semi-regularly to give me updates. In any case I’m keeping on them but given how empty their lot has been the past several months, something is definitely up.

I thought I read Ford was pulling allocations from dealers that were pulling that bullshit

If they are it's not stopping them. A Jeep dealer around me is modifying new JLs with junky suspension lifts and ugly aftermarket bumpers and adjusting the price by $26k+.... Maybe a way to get around the manufacture from knowing? Similar treatment to any trucks they get in.

Part of the reason I'm buying from a dealer 500 miles away who would sign on a firm price.
