Utah Official TJ Fest 2023 Thread

Ok, I've been MIA on the forum for awhile now. Kids hockey and work has gotten in the way . I'm thinking about hitting up 2023's TJ Fest. Since I just listed my trailer for sale I kinda need to decide my plan. Those that have attended in the past, please PM me with the positives, negatives, tips, etc. Driving from SE PA it's a haul so I want make sure it's the right timing.

It’s worth it. Great scenery, great wheeling and great new friends to wheel with. Just do it.

Lol...Have you really driving PA? It's borderline offroad trails at 80mph. I've spent plenty of time in WI for work. Roads haven't been bad.

I have driven quite a bit in PA. It’s not the roads so much as the drivers who don’t realize there’s a right lane.

You’ve just got to get to I70 or I80 and go.

Good thing is that I have experience making most of that drive. This time last summer I drove from here to Badlands through and all around Colorado then back. 5k in under 2 weeks with wife and kiddos. If I can convince my wife to do this trip I would likely go back to the TJ Fest 1.0 plan and have the family fly to Denver and pick them up there.

I’m getting everything planned to make my way down this year, between covid and a new job etc etc. I’ve been playing to go down for last 3 years roughly.

Coming from canada, about 3000km or 1800+ miles

But what if the Leafs are in the first round of the playoffs? I'd hate you to miss their entire playoff run. ;)

Haha that’s good, not a leafs fan though so doesn’t bother me. Id much rather stop by in colorado on my way and watch them grab another cup (thats my team, back from the sakic, forsburg days)

The only thing my team is in the hunt for is the top draft pick. I'll still be at the rink 5-7 days a week for good kids hockey.

Good the ok from wifey for the trip. Now it's just a matter of logistics and cash.

Need some help with planning for the spring.

1) Is there a campground that a lot of folks stay at?
2) I will be renting a UHaul trailer to drive from SE PA. Anyone used their car hauler this far?
3) I'm running 4" Curry lift with tummy tuck and 33s. I routinely run tough trails and out perform many 35"+ rigs. Will I be ok out there?
4) Do people generally wheel the whole week or just a few days? My wife and kids will fly out so we will do other things like hiking, national parks, etc. Wondering if it's better to have them come out later in the week.

The KOA has been fairly popular. Many of us will just dirtbag around.

Yeah, traction is unreal in Moab. You could have fun stock on many trails.
