I'm considering a one day Rausch ride on October 7th. This day was picked because the weather is typically great and because it's a Friday before a weekend that doesn't have any big events on the calendar. That means access to the park will be very good, with little traffic on the trails all day Friday. I also looked at the following two weekends, but they have major events I'd like to stay away from (See below).

10/15 KRAWLIN FOR K9s
10/22 BUILT TO HEAL

If anyone is interested, let me know and we'll see if we can get a small group together. Trails will be varied, covering Greens, Blues, and Blacks. For those that want to split, there will be opportunities for Red trails as well. I'll be driving up early Friday morning and be at Rausch by 0830. The plan is to wheel until 1600, load up, then head back home.

For planners like me, here's what the daylight looks like for that time of year

I would be interested...

I've been saying I've been wanting to go to Rausch for a few months but want to get my sliders done. I've finally gotten around to picking up the supplies and will get started on them this week, with installation over the weekend (depending on if the weather cooperates).

Depending on sports schedules, I'd be down for this run. I would do either the 7th or 8th, but likely not both.

Anyone interested, I've updated the original post. Due to new family obligation this will be a one day only trip.

My interest remains. I don't have issues taking off on a Friday. Let me run it by the boss to confirm.

Mine neither, but I can sell a nice gentle family trail ride through the woods if a picnic and a view is involved. My one buddy hatched a plan for us to set up a nice "surprise" romantic picnic for him and his GF just to be able to justify the wheeling trip. She thought the whole thing was just for them 😂

She's married to a Jeep guy and she can't believe it? She should know better by now 😁

She goes when we bring the kids to Oak Ridge but that's about it and only recently.

Last time she went to Rausch with me we were still dating. I had an old toyota on ltb's. Somewhere just north of the PA border on the way home, very late at night, the ltb's decided to break the exhaust at the y pipe. They shook just a little bit 😆. We rolled through the DC beltway around midnight with all 4 cylinders screaming dumping right out the manifold just about. It was a loud, long drive home back to Richmond.

Maybe that's why she hasn't been up there in a while. 😆

I could be talked into Sept. 30th, if that works better for folks. It just needs to be either that day or Oct. 7th.

Crashing in from the PA Board...I'll see what I can do to make it but my kids hockey team has a tournament that weekend so we likely have games Friday. I'm the coach so I kinda have to attend. If not, I'll be there.

I am Rausch curious.

Isn't it funny how I am planning on driving cross country to Moab and you're curious about Rausch in my back yard. Traction isn't as readily available here.

Now that my rig has the major items done, it's time for the build to continue into polishing the diamond.

Seat time in area's I am not familiar with is a good thang.

September 30th is a no go for me, but Oct 7th is looking good. Just waiting for my daughter's softball schedule to come out. I'm about 75% good as of now for the 7th.
