Heading out to rescue my TJ from Columbus, Ohio tomorrow — Might need some advice

I will offer what little details I have.
- wouldn't start after fill-up
- AAA tow truck driver confirmed no spark
- AAA mechanic noticed the fuel gauge reading empty and confirmed the tank is full
- AAA mechanic confirmed power to ECM is good
- No codes and no communication with ECM

Maybe a bad ignition switch? Mine went bad with no warning.

Sitting on a plane for over 3 hours has given me a chance to really dig into all the threads on this topic. It's kind of overwhelming. I'll just keep working on the possibilities one by one. I have most of tomorrow before I give up.

Good luck, we are pulling for you.

I'll be flying out today at 6:30pm. I reserved the one-way U-Haul package for $2732 with tax and insurance but I hope not to use it.

Call an auto transport company. I had my f150 shipped from Las Vegas to Long Beach for $500. It took a week but I was able to fix the transmission myself then.

Installed new PCM

Result. No change. No CEL. GAS Gauge not working. Unplugged crank pos sensor and no change. All wires look great, no signs of damage.

Check to see if the ignition switch is actually "on" : 1. turn the switch to the on position and turn the wipers on . I bet the wipers don't work.
I heard the sigh in the video hang in there man!

Well I just looked at the video again , I am probably wrong about the switch. sorry. Look real closely at the rear of the valve cover where the wiring loom routes around the stud sticking out of the head. As others have said here the wire insulation can rub through and short out the wires.
Did you check all the fuses and relays ?

have you checked the wire connection on the tank end? should be in behind the driver side rear wheel.
began after fueling, no power to the gauge, is fuel pressure confirmed? do you trust the guy that verified spark?.

I would never trust a mechanic who is troubleshooting a cranks but no spark problem and didn't check that fuse! These guys get one star or less.

can you trust it?
i'm 2hrs north in cleveland and less than 10m from hopkins airport. you could stick it behind my garage and arrange for transport if you feel that's a better option.

but be warned my dogs will pee on the wheels.

Thanks for the offer, but I will bring fuses and pick up a coil from O'Reillys, and try to make it back.

Glad to hear it! I'm originally from Columbus, and the last several years have made the road trip there and back from Tucson. It's a nice drive, and if you have the time to take it easy, I would recommend it. Hint: Small town motels are cheaper than big city ones. But gas is cheaper in the cities.
