I have a 03 tj and I recently bought a grill insert. Has anyone else put a grill insert on their TJ

Many people have. It's your preference on looks, but people have noted it caused cooling issues. I don't like them personally.

I have the plastic ones that snap in. They look ok. I like that they keep all the leaves and crap out.
I don't have any issues with my jeep running hot.

I have the Hooke (I think that's the right spelling), they look fine, and there's no effect on cooling. They just snap into place, takes 30 seconds to install.

I think those attach behind the grille with zip ties and some minor drilling.

They won't help your cooling, of course I live in the desert where a perfect cooling system is needed.

80 years ago in North Africa , even the 9 slot grill was too much restriction to keep your MB cool in the dessert.
You had to keep your cool while you were kicking some German ass. Men were men then , and we owe these guys a debt we can't truly repay.
