Exactly my reason for asking the question. A guy who is supposedly an expert with jeeps told me that my Springs were mounted upside down. I told him it didn't matter. He said I didn't know what I was talking about!
Just tune the spring based off of which end you would like to compress first.

How significant a difference is there between uniform vs. progressive rate springs, ride quality, handling, etc?
None whatsoever. The only noticeable differences are free length and stack height.
