Any non usa posters here thinking about or had experience with japanese engine swap? Us engine spare parts are unicorn here and after auto to manual swap i dont like the jeep at all. Gears are very long overall dont like both engine 4.0 and ax15 tranny. I want to swap 3-uz. I will be doing the swap alone. Planning to collect all the needed parts through winter and start the swap next summer. Wanted to know problems regarding marrying japanese tranny and 231 transfer case.

I rarely do any offroadimg or boulder crawling. After experiencing short based 2 solid axles i am settled and found that i like prerunner type of offroading.

I doubt anybody has had any experience with that. I also don't think it's a great idea. Is regearing a possibility for you?

There are roads in Kazakhstan?
You should have plenty of great diesel options over there, from Japs to Chinese copies of German engines.
Mating AX15 to anything is probably your best choice due to its history and Jap origins. NP231 was mated to AX15 on a Jeep from 88 to 99, difference is in input gear length.

Novak guide below says you need short gear:

freedom_in_4low did AX15 swap and had a long gear:
