I've got green fenders and don't want to paint them. Also can't use the back to black tricks cause they're green... Well almost grey green at this point.

I've read the heat gun trick is only temporary and can't be don't more then once or twice.... But couldn't you just heat gun it then seal it with some clear coat? Not sure if that'd prevent it from fading again.

Can you post pics- sounds like a green Sahara.

It's a Willys Edition. Sorry for the bad lighting, stuck in the garage right now.

What you mean to say is fender flares..the only way to restore them is to buy new. I have seen everything else attempted and they all fail

I removed mine, painted them, reinstalled them, and am happy with the result.

From the pic, those look black, but you say they are green? If green, then they are painted, and the heat-gun trick would not work.

Well they are factory green, willys edition

Once the chemical process happens and they fade, there is no way to reverse that process.

Please forget the heat gun process it makes flares look even worse and half assed, IMO.

You could replace them or paint them.

You will never find the green flares or top, ever. That's why I kept my green flares protected with Armor All. You can make them look better with a protectant that shines them up a little.
p.s. This stuff is actually white and not greasy. It works on all colors of plastic.

This is awesome, I had no idea. I thought it would have some black dye.

Seeing some mixed opinions here. I might try this plus some 303 on top and see how it is. If that doesn't work I might try the heat method.

That method worked extremely well for me multiple times over the years when I still had flares.

A picture you posted back in 2018 shows exactly what I’m talking about when it comes to worse and half assed.

Notice the dark then light spots/blots circled caused by inconsistencies using a heat gun and a “steady hand.”

That's not actually of my TJ, it just showed a before and after. Mine looked fine, I was completely/very happy with the looks. Maybe you're just after perfection lol.

WTF? Mine were not half-assed at all, they looked fine. If you couldn't get yours to turn out as well as they did for me that's not to say it's not possible.

Jerry, what are you going on about?
I never said or claimed it was your Jeep…I never said yours were half assed…I never said I attempted or used a heat gun on my flares…

What I am saying is, I do prefer perfection over half assed.
