Hey all. Looking for a bit of info, or perhaps suggestions, on some new currie springs. I've been upgrading lift components, and want some new springs. I currently have 4.5" rubicon express springs, and would like some longer springs so they stay seated while flexing. I know the curries offer a very long free length. I've read that they added a new spring, and the old ones everyone ran is now the 5" lift spring option. My question is for the rears. I'm considering going with the LJ springs for my TJ, as I carry a 35" spare as well as a 12 galling titan gas tank on the back. When I go on long trips, my jeep is pretty loaded down as well. I keep thinking that I will like the LJ springs more considering the weight in the rear of my tj. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Anyone run the LJ springs on their TJ?

The LJ springs are what a lot recommend if you have a bit of weight. I have brand new ones waiting to go on my Jeep but I think I will sell them and get the standard non LJ springs as I don't have a lot of weight in the back anymore. I don't recall the free length between the two.

I had the 4.5” rubicon express springs and the went to the 4” TJ Currie springs. Ride hight was negligible but the Curries do not come unseated. I have Currie short arms with 12” Fox reservoir out boarding. My TJ is not a feather weight with 35” spare and full door and hard top, but is level and handles perfectly.

Currie says they are 1/2” longer, I mistakenly installed the shorter ones and after I had a spring fail I replaced both to the LJ ones. My LJ was a bit down in the back it bothered me. It is solved now, I also removed the bumper and spare tire carrier and put the spare up on the gate.

There is no reason not to. If they create the desired ride height, then why not?

This is key right here, if they create the correct ride height that you are looking for. As for me, it had just a bit too much rake for my liking. I will revisit it though when I rework my rear suspension.

In my case, the LJ springs went in back when I had that stupid heavy tire carrier. Then I moved the upper and lower spring seats further apart. And I got a much lighter weight tire carrier. So, now I am occasionally making adjustments to the rear ride height with thin spacers.

Message me when that day comes.

The LJ my 4” Currie/Saavy lift came from with 33x12.50’s

And what that lift looks like on my TJ with 35’s. It’s been installed for about 7yrs now and was a used kit when I purchased it. Unknowingly scored that lift and a set of Currie bumpstops for only $700 back then.

What kind of weight did you have in the rear? I wouldn't mind a bit of rake when I'm empty, carrying no gas or gear in the back.

Simple bumper that covers the rear crossmember, spare tire in bed with smaller mount. I used to have a huge heavy bumper with swing out tire carrier, a Tuffy 36"x36" storage box, and other heavy items.

I would put this question to Blaine Johnson, he has most experience around here with Currie stuff. Maybe he will pipe in.
