What did you do to your TJ today?

Went to prentice cooper with the wife and kids. It was muddy and I hate mud but the kids loved it. I had to wash the Jeep twice.🤦‍♂️I saw 2 other TJs out on the trails.

The destruction of the grass in your front yard would not stand here in Arizona. Grass here is sacred. Have you no shame sir?!! 🤘

Ran tail gunner today so when Trent McGee passed me while in traffic down the hill to Black Cayon City, thought what the heck. Not to brag but, he looked at my Jeep. I geeked out just a little.

Over the last week I made some changes, a new set of tires. snagged some super clean half doors for a good price and vinyl wrapped them black. Ditched the tire carrier rear bumper for a low profile BFHII and moved the spare to the tub. Lost the light bar and some extra wiring, sub woofer, etc. Shaved 440 lbs from the TJ in total.

Then I went and wheeled it a bit.

I used to have great fun with mud. I was much younger then. Cleaning mud off is a lot of work nowadays. If I can go around that's what I do.

Last time I went wheeling I had a long time friend with me and on the way up north he asked about mud. I said I don't like mud, it's a pain in the ass to clean up. He goes into his whiney kid voice and says, " Oh gosh we don't want to get the Jeep all muddy!" We had the windows down, elbows out and I hit every mud hole we came to, wheels in on the passenger side. :ROFLMAO:

Check your front track bar bolts for torque. Look at your rear sway bar bushings. Replacing my rear bushing was a huge boost to stability.

Good to know. I’ll have to crawl under there again.
I bought rear links and bushings as well so I’ll definitely be replacing those when I get a chance. Thanks for the tips.

I actually applauded the decimation of the grass.

Whomever came up with the idea to cover your property with grass should be shot. Pay the landscaper to cut it…. and to make sure there are no weeds.. Pay the water company to keep it green…. I hate the stuff. It’s just another corporate conspiracy to extract money from our pockets. Around here, it’s a friggin’ competition to see who can have the greenest grass (spend the most money). I live on the water and salt air is the worst for everything.. My TJ included. But the wife says we need someplace to run and frolic. I am married to this wonderful woman almost thirty years and NEVER has she ran or froliced on our grass or any other place that I can remember.

Just another instance of planned obsolescence big business has contrived to suck wealth out of our personal economies.

Wait, what? You call that ^^^^^^ traffic? That’s clear sailing. Try the Long Island Expressway. Dead stop is not uncommon.

A Big Grass corporate conspiracy theory? How may I sign up for your newsletter?

Yet another pet peeve of mine, albeit a minor one. It stems from what I call the "English Manor housing model", which doesn't make a lot of sense in an urban environment - complete with stupid setback regulations. I'm more in favor of the Middle Eastern model where the house is built right up to the property line and looks inward to an atrium. Better use of space, more privacy, no water wasting grass, cooler in hot climates, more secure and - to my eye at least - prettier. The front lawn in particular is just wasted space - at the very least let me build my house up to the sidewalk so the rest of the lot is in back and usable. Pah on your setback laws!

I prefer the sprawling ranch look...

Never cared for the houses utilizing the entire plot for building structure and the perimeter walls turn me off. I get it.. I just don't like it. I live on the water and I want to see the water without obstructions.

Replaced front pcv/ccv valve, and it was every bit as annoying as everyone says!!! But it came out. Have to wait on the back one as the KC lights don't allow the hood to go up all of the way. Can probably get to it but not today!! Anyway the front one was leaking quite a bit, back one not so much.

Then the house needs to face that way, and be up against the property line on the "other" side(s). There was a house in a suburban style neighborhood that I'd walk through on my daily lunchtime walks. The guy built a wall, six feet high, around the entire front yard. Best thing he could have done - he had a nice patio area that he could actually use instead of a wasted setback area. Another house in the same neighborhood built a 7 foot fence that enclosed not only the front yard, but actually crossed the driveway with a gate as well. That was actually a better idea, although the wall at the first house looked nicer than the wooden fence.

Yep. I’ve mentioned to my wife in the past that we could save a lot of time and effort by treating the lawn with a 50:50 mix of Round Up and green paint once a year... she didn’t bite.
