What is it about the look of Metalcloak fenders that some do not like?

Reminds me a lot of these infamous Jeep grilles. The Metalcloak fenders remind me of this brodozer style.

Unfortunately, I know people that like that look and the angry grilles on TJs. I no longer answer their texts or wave when passing on the street.

You made the claim. This is your hole.

I made a claim based in fact. The posts are there to be found and have been for years...
You are too smart of a person to not think people could have once liked a product and have since changed their opinions…
Some changed no doubt as they progressed in their understanding of what they wanted to do with their Jeep. Some because they want to sit at the cool kids table so they had to fall in line…

The Metalcloak design aesthetic is an offshoot of the cartoonish brodozer look that has been ruining perfectly good trucks for at least the last 15 years.

Thanks. If they remind you of that I can see why you would not be keen on them 😂 I always picture the Overline ones in my mind when I think of them, which I guess must mean I am not drawn to the arched ones either.

Now you have to prove how little you care despite your extensive historical knowledge of who has waffled on their feelings about these objectively ugly fenders. 🤣

They simply don't fit the lines on a TJ, it's just simple design sense to dislike the look. Add in they don't really add any value and they're very simple to dislike.

If they were free, I might buy a set. Otherwise, they're uglier than Cris Cyborg in the UFC.

I’ve never liked the arched Metalcloak fenders or the many aftermarket flat fenders or the stock/cut up fenders/flares, etc. What I do know is people do as they wish with their own vehicle. It’s their money, not mine. So I don’t ridicule or even comment. To each their own. Live and let live. It’s not that serious to even worry about…

I think they are ugly. Poor design and don’t match the atheistics of the TJ. That’s my answer for ya.

Thanks. I'm not sure I see how the Overlines are that different to other fenders from other manufacturer, but maybe there are points of detail that you pick up on which I don't. And it would be a dull old world if everyone liked exactly the same things.

I know for me, my taste and vision of what a cool Jeep looked like was totally different when I first got my Jeep versus now. You have no idea what is functional and what is not when you’re new. Gain some experience with what works and what doesn’t and suddenly functionality becomes the new cool. At the end of the day, a Jeep with well functioning and well thought out modifications is usually also the better looking jeep to me because my value system is based on function rather than gaudy flashy designs.

I didn't want to get into functionality, as I know MC make claims that are generally not accepted re clearance. But I believe you have hi lines, so I can see why your view is informed by the functional element. That said, personally I still don't see why the Overlines fit less with a TJ's lines than a number of other flat fenders - but then I am kind of putting words in your mouth as you have not said you like any other non-hi lines.
