Reminds me of the meme: 'No new parts unless you break something'. That thing is probably totaled.
My dad armed us and told us to clear the birds from the sheds. He was tired of birdshit on his tractor seats. We were that age ridding the world of a scourge.
I learned to shoot single shot pellets against birds swaying on tree branches at 25-50 yards. So non moving targets are easy.
Whiskey in your coffee. Problem solved.
I used to bark squirrels as a kid cause I was told you couldn't hit them as it ruined the meat. Took me a while to the the hang of it. That and trying to shoot rabbits was my training.
