The housing was just a little worn down on the bottom. The barnett cover hangs down a little lower than the housing (this cover is used but was never on this axle).

I wanted to add a little meat to the bottom of the axle and add a “wear layer” to extend its life. Blaine came up with the idea. I started by cutting some small notches in the housing.

Grind it smooth ish. It doesn’t have to look perfect, it’s going to get drug over rocks anyways.
