Hey y'all, this is a continuation of my other thread that had made for my turbo TJ.
https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/turbo-4-liter.49996/

I bought this 2005 LJ a month or so ago and I am planning to build it much the same as I built the TJ. Many of the parts from the TJ will be moved over to the LJ. Good news is I can document the turbo build process this time. Bad news is once the process is done the TJ is for sale. So first post here she is stock, and also with the Currie 44 front and TJ 44 Rear swapped in on the 35s and Currie 4 inch lift with Savvy arms.

I'm just waiting for this turbo setup to become a kit for sale. Were you making your own header or catted/catless up-pipe if you will?

I made a 1.5" body lift for it this week and installed it today with a 1" motor lift as well. Then I spent the rest of the day cleaning off the top of the frame and the drivetrain that is newly exposed. Besides the obvious clearance I think one of the biggest benefits to a body lift is access to clean the frame and other parts normally hidden.

Living up to the title of this thread.

I put in some work today. The new GT3582 turbo is installed. I still need to install the new intercooler and heat exchanger, but there are only so many hours in the day.

Little rip on the way in this morning. It pulls pretty good for only running a little less than 6 pounds.

I watched it multiple times and it didn't get old!

@Jezza are you running the 42RLE or custom upgraded auto transmission in this video?

Edit: Is this with the Edelbrock installed or is that on a different engine?

That's the old 150k mile 42RLE. Slightly modified shift points in the tuning, but that's about it. The engine is 100% stock. The Edelbrock was on my stroker engine that lasted 100 miles.

I saw what happened to the stroker (sorry man). I hope the Edelbrock didn't get damaged so you can use it in a future build.

Are you running the Banks exhaust manifold or did you go back to the cast iron manifolds? I'd like to run the Banks manifold but I'm fearful of them cracking on me.

The Edelbrock is okay. I just need to clean it up a bit. I am running the Banks header. The OEM cast ones don't fit over the bigger Edelbrock exhaust ports.

Completely off-topic question...what is on your steering wheel? lol
I've seen that before and really like it but I have zero clue what it is.

It's a paracord wrap. It works good, but is a huge PITA to do. Plan on 3 or more hours and blisters on your fingers when you are done.
