What did you do to your TJ today?

You didn’t comprehend the warning. You’ll be retracting the pistons…

I did, I "was" just pulling the axles to put new u-joints in them right now . Not rebuilding the brakes , but in trying to take the caliper off , finally got it to pop loose, I found the inside pads were on the right side and the outside pads were on the wrong side. I have no idea how this dumb ass got these to go on !!!! Well I've ran out of daylight so the jeep is setting right there till I'm off Sunday. Guess I'm glad the rotors and pads came in today because this has turned into a brake job.
Guess I'll be flushing the system and new fluid going in . Really not doing the work in the order I wanted to , unbelievable . Might as well pick up the new calipers and install the new hoses while I'm at it. At least it will come apart easy and I can knock out the joints on another day off down the road.

Another afternoon of cycling suspension, bolting and unbolting tires and rolling on the floor  I found out my Bilsteins are actually a good length for my setup. I’ll end up with about 3” of bump stop in the rear with my current shocks and minimal rubbing. I’ll split that with a 1.5” spacer up top and two hockey pucks at the spring pad. Accounting for compression/deflection, I should be left with less than 1/2” of shock shaft showing. For now, this will allow me to get out and wheel in the next few weeks and enjoy it for a bit before the roads get too salty. I’ll have plenty of cold days to spend in the garage to fine tune this in a few months. My only issue with this 8.8 swap is its narrower width so I’ll be adding some 1/4” wheel spacers to see if I can gain some more up travel before calling it quits. I’m rubbing on the frame side track bar bracket and can’t think of any other way to avoid it.

It was 45 F this morning on the way to work. So I replaced the half with full doors to trap in the heat. It's nice on the trip home.

It’s been about the same here in eastern West Virginia. Still rolling with the doors off lol When I get off in the morning I just put my coat on and the ten minute drive home isn’t too bad …. Yet lol

Been tackling small things. Changed front diff fluid, greased pretty much everything. Ordered new ball joints. Built a quick adjustable and removable gun rack using unistrut and some spring nuts. I had the holders laying around. Some 3/8" all thread and couplers was all I needed to buy. Can adjust width to hold different rifles. Mounts to box using bolts and t-nuts. It's coyote season!
