What did you do to your TJ today?

Started a new adventure in financial irresponsibility- 2004 , 79,000 miles, doors and top have never been off- Georgia Jeep, auto

On a serious note, if you watch what you are doing these things are a good return on your money, compared to most newer vehicles that depreciate more than these cost.

Will start a build thread, Andy G’s Rubicon Revenge since some pervert practically stole my black one.

I detailed it with a toothbrush. I hope that my wife cannot taste detailer. I’ve got a spin brush and I didn’t wanna scratch the paint.

Yall really have to see the White Rubi, honestly it won't take @AndyG as much Elbow grease to clean it up as it did for the black Rubi.

Thanks John, I think it is going to really clean up nice- it is not the mint, ultra low mileage Rubi I always thought I would get for that kind of money, but it checks all the boxes.

The owner was terminally ill, they needed the money and I was not going to haggle and upset and tire him.

He was as honest as he could be about the jeep, and sort of a fascinating character.

I think some nice ones are going to pop up, and they are going to bring ridiculous money-we are already seeing that.

Also , I did not want to get one that was so pristine and low mileage I was afraid to enjoy it or put miles on it -

I wanted a hard top, the factory soft top, hard top wiring, interior I can use black accessories with, an auto, a Rubi and white. It also matches my cohort and RubiBro @Jamison C s rig, for at least today.....he is doing some cool stuff lately.

I do have some ideas on where I’m going with it as far as changes.

John, thanks for making the long drive, I know you put yourself out to get it.....and thanks for buying it. For the difference in price you paid you got yourself a nice, good running Rubicon that has not been beat on or hacked.

Guys, all of us that know John love him. He is a truthful, hard working guy and a real family man. If you her get the chance to meet him do it.

Been getting a clicking when turning past few months, knew there was a little play in the front universal joints though. Recently moved to a new place with a 33’ wide by 23’ deep garage and have the room to work on the bigger jobs vs the old place with a garage barely big enough to get the jeep into. Pulled the tires and turned the hubs by hand and the passenger side was binding bad.

Pulled the axle shaft and found the universal joint would only articulate in 2 directions, the other two directions were seized solid.

New u joint installed, just pending a new cotter pin as it snapped when removed then I can do the other side.

Guys when Andy takes on a project, he doesn't skimp or cut corners!!!!

The Black Rubi looks so good and clean, we kid him about being a fanatic about cleaning the windshield, but honestly he is that way with the whole project!!!!!!

We all expect a build thread.

To clarify, I mean a build thread, not a duck thread.

Been playing with different settings on the new antirock. I feel like the middle position is the best for my setup and feel. Nice control over sway, and still plenty of flex. I also have a bit of contact with correctlync and end link of sway bar under hard flex and turning hard passenger. It would have always been the case I suppose with the old quick disconnects. Any idea on a fix for that?

I had the same issue with the track bar rubbing the tank skid after SYE kit.

I didn’t realize the Rubicons would do that since they have a DC rear shaft from the factory. Is the rear axle side track bar bracket the same as non-Rubicons?

My PO ran stock track bar and straight bracket so long it about went through the tank.

Shouldn't you have the bottom Heim joint on the other side of the tab ?
Picture shows connector pointing in.

Dougy do you have adjustable control arms adjusted back too far making the track bar hit the tank maybe , mine comes close to the tank but not that close.
I've heard of some people trying to get the wheelbase as long as possible but that seems dangerous ! o_O

Not according to the instruction manual. And I feel like it would put them in a bind Installing it to the outside on the axle. Right now, the link is lined up vertically.

Okay , I don't have mine yet , getting the RockJock , is yours the Curry Antirock or Rockjock ?
Just looked like it would be better on the other side in the picture didn't look vertical but that could be deceiving . Guess I will know more when I install one on mine. Just curious is the top one on the inside or the outside?
Nate from Bleeping Jeep installed the Curry ones with both on the outside.

Took my father-in-law, brother-in-law and son out to the local off-road park for a quick low play on Tim obstacle courses.

Almost immediately got it stuck on some big old rocks. I think I bent the front driveshaft. Getting some severe vibration once I hit 60 miles an hour.

Just more proof that In-Laws are bad luck.:devilish:
