Rookie question! What was this this shelf made for? My Jeep is an X, I'm guessing it was for some higher trim package?

I actually removed that plate and mounted my ARB Twin right to the support bracket underneath. Bought me some extra room because of the angle I needed to mount it at…

That's smart. I have the single ARB and it was a tight fit! I never considered removing it completely, which is funny because I did have to take it out to get the holes marked and drilled in it to mount the compressor.

I cussed that thing for about 2 hours getting it all installed. Sometimes the simplest solutions escape us!🤣

I put my Philly cheese steak sandwiches there to keep them warm until I get home from the takeout restaurant. I know I'm not the only one.

Yeah, I was thinking that's where you heat up your burrito when on the trail.

I know a guy that had (sold it) a TJ with a small metal basket over the engine. It was put there to heat up food.

Back when we were on the County Road Crew and were doing paving/Slurry Seal, my best friend and I would stop at the grocery store and each buy a whole chicken and some aluminum foil and nylon string. We'd wrap the chickens in the aluminum foil, tie the strings to the knot of the aluminum foil, and push the foil-wrapped chickens down into the hot Slurry Seal at 7AM when we'd pull out in the paving trucks. At lunchtime we'd have us some nice cooked chickens...

The slurry seal story reminds me of the way they roast pork in Hawaii in a hole in the ground, but with more probable carcinogens. 🤣
