Currie 3 inch or 4 inch lift?

Okay 4inch it is! Have you guys with the Currie 4 been actually getting 4 inches when it’s settled? Or is it going to be more/less?
My Currie 4" seems to be pretty much right at 4". I know why you're asking though, I installed a set of 4.5" springs onto my previous TJ many years ago and they gave more like 5.5" of lift in reality. And that was with a fairly heavy TJ too.

depends on the build.

the 9132F1 3" front spring got me pretty much exactly 4". i have no AC and steel TNT zero flare tube fenders.

9131RH1 3" rear spring got me around 4.25". no hardtop but have a 35" spare on a carrier.

I ran the Currie 4” with both 33s and 35s, with and without MML/BL no SYE no vibrations. Maybe manual (yes @Irun I know I know ;)) is less sensitive to vibrations? I would certainly try it to see if you can.

Gotta bump an old thread, but I am going to 35's from 33's, and want to just go 3 inch rock jock instead of the the 4 inch suspension lift(have a 2 inch suspension lift/1.25 inch JKS body lift currently. What are the latest opinions? I have an uninstalled savvy tummy tuck, 5.13's,Rock jock steering/rock jock arms, Have all the parts but the 3 or 4 inch shocks and spring, going rock jock either way and like fox remote res shocks... So just not sure I want the jeep to still clear a 35, its just a trail rig and know KM3's with low air pressure, on the trail I hardy need that extra inch.. Thanks guys.

A 3” lift spring and a 1.25” body lift is not enough to properly clear 35’s - not without bump-stopping the hell out of it and loosing uptravel. If you are intent on 35’s, stick with the 4” spring. The inch does make a difference.

I have a 2005 LJ and … [snip]

A caution of you go for the 3" springs from Currie: their website lists both lift height, 3" for example, and "Spring Loaded Height". And if you use the much-reported stock spring loaded lengths (12" front, 8" rear) you will see that both the lift height and the Loaded Height cannot be correct. For instance, a 9131RH1 lists a 3" lift on an LJ, which would give a total loaded spring height of 8+3=11", but the listed Loaded Height is 12.25". I found, in all cases, the Loaded Height to be the correct value. When I first ordered springs, about a month ago, I ended up with a 2.5" lift on the front, and a 4" lift on the rear, and it looked really stupid bad with the rear way up in the air. I ended up having to order different rear springs. Currie is aware of this issue and is in the process of fixing it on their web site, so they may have it corrected online by the time you order, but I would give them a call when ordering and don't just pick springs that say "3" lift for an LJ" online and hit the order button. The have agreed to take the mis-ordered springs back, which is just good customer service. Everything else I ordered from them has just been freaking awesome - great products.
Do you have the part numbers for the “right” springs? I had a bunch of mixups with mine, and I wonder if the rear springs ended up right for my LJ, because I have a reverse rake.

Highline fenders would be needed to clear 35’s

You might want to research Curries two springs advertised as 4" that work for TJ's.

https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/tj-shock-spring-specification-resource-thread.47846/

More or less depends on the sprung weight of each rig. I got 4.25", but you may get 4". It all depends on YOUR sprung weight.

I got exactly 4" in front with my LJ, with a winch and a Warm stubby bumper (relatively lightweight for steel, but still steel...in the 40lb neighborhood I think).

They have 3 different heights for the rear and i haven't decided which I want. I want more height in the rear and a better relationship between rates so I want to go with Rockjock but I don't want the ridiculous rake that many seem to end up with...leaning toward the H2 which is 4" TJ/3.5" LJ. I'm running what I believe to be a 3" rear spring of unknown brand that gave the LJ identical ride height that it did under the TJ.

Oh ffs, my phone autocorrected Warn to Warm. I'm quoting instead of editing because I didn't want to rob anyone the amusement of that typo.

Title of my sex tape 🤣

My TJR with 4" Currie lift before adding a 1" BL, no way to clear 35's with 5" of lift. And after with Genright Fenders also

Are you sure that photo is right? I’m getting ready for a 1.25” body lift, so I still only have the 4” Currie/RJ suspension lift, with 35s. I know that 35s aren’t all 35”, and in fact my KO2s are 34.5” – but I don’t think that’s the difference:

We're talking about the clearance needed to offroad with 35's, not what it takes to drive on smooth paved roads. Notice how my front 35" tire is stuffed into the flat high-clearance fender with my 4" SL and 1.25" body lift?

Right, I was just confused by the photo. I can’t tell for sure, but it looked like the Jeep was just sitting. Maybe I misunderstood, and it was a close-up of the suspension flexing the other way.

The pic in question is with the tire stuffed into the fender showing a lack of clearance.

Yes the picture is correct, when the other side drops this side stuffs into the wheel well. Just wanted to show how far a 35 will actually go up into the wheel well / fender. This picture was taken after installing my 4" Currie lift and 35" BFG Mud Terrains. The second is after a 1" B: was added and flat fenders. Just wanted you know you can run 35's with a 4" lift and do mild fire roads but. if you want to do actual trails you need more than just a 4" lift.

This is the other side of the jeep, where you can see the opposite tire is drooping but the front tire is now stuffed into the front fender. This shows that even the front needs more than a 4" lift kit for doing trails.
