Just thought I'd share. I cut the tops of the frame of the back seat from a 2007 Ford Escape? (can remember) because they had the ability to tumble forward. Welded them in to the frame of my rear seat, added seat heaters, and took it to the upholstery shop. I misplaced the caps that go over the tops of the holes you insert the headrests into, but it's barely noticable and I'll track them down eventually. I think it came out pretty well.

Now I can rest my head. 🤣

Just jerkin your chain. That’s pretty cool. Seat heaters back there are a huge bonus. Nice work. I’d like to see some pics underneath where you welded them to the main body of the seat. I’m assuming all the adjustability is in the headrests.

Thanks and yeah, the headrests are adjustable up and down. I needed a tumble feature too for better visibility when they aren't being sat in. They aren't for comfort though. They are for safety in a rear end collision since my boys are getting old enough to ride back there without a full booster seat now. I'll see if I can find the photos of my terrible welding just to see what I did to the frame. I'd ask for a promise not to laugh at my welding but I honestly deserve it so.......

The head rests are a nice touch. Especially, with the ability to fold and tumble the seat. The JK headrests in my LJ rear seat don't do that. I'd like to fix that issue at some point, but the Jeep is low on my priority now! Nicely done! 👍

Just to finish up, I got it installed and wired up. The boys love the heat and repeatedly bouncing their heads on the headrests for some reason. I guess I should be happy they are "using" them? Anywho, I already had switches for the front two seats installed so I just put the rear seats next to them. I was unhappy with myself for putting the original switches where they are (because poked holes in my console) but since I already ruined it, figured might as well put them all there. Eventually I'd like to replace the console and put the switches in the flat spot on the dash where the ash tray is on early models, but it's not even close to a priority.

And I'm very happy I found headrests that tumble forward. I can't take a pic in the rear view mirror because phone blocks the view, but they do significantly impact your line of site when up. Down they are barely noticable.
