Can't find a flat thermostat housing

We’ll I’ve bought from crown , auto zone and amazon and every single unit is a cast piece of crap and none of them have a flat mating surface, what have people done to remedy this issue. The one inhabe currently on my Jeep was a crown replacement and it leaks as well. So this time around I figured I’d just buy 3 different ones in hopes one would have a flat mating surface but they are all warped to some degree

90 seconds with some sandpaper glued to a flat surface will fix it.
 
When I have a problem like that I use a Planer Stone, but a flat surface and sandpaper works too....

Years ago when I first changed the thermostat, I found that I need to lapp the OEM housing to get it to seal. I wet sanded it on the edge of a table saw.
