Insulation type stuff alongside the exhaust partially fell and is rattling on me.

1- What's it called so I can find a new one?
2- Do I need it?

Yes you want/need that in place, it's a thermal barrier to the immense amount of heat the catalytic converter gives off. Without it in place your interior would run a lot hotter from its heat coming up through the floor. .

Thanks Jerry. My interior gets wildly hot. Makes sense. I'll try to stick it back up somehow or find a new one.
