Hi guys,
I own a 04 Tj auto trans with a leaking radiator. I’m planning on putting an aftermarket one because mopar is very expensive. I saw a denso radiator for $86 on rock auto. Denso is a well reputed brand but the price makes me wonder would it be any good? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I don't care if the Mopar is expensive, and yes it is, but it's worth the extra cost. It cools significantly better (true) and will last longer. How long did your original Mopar last? Yep a long time.

Yes you’re right it lasted a very long time. But denso radiators on my toyotas have lasted even longer
Thats why im confused
And so is Delphi a great brand, they are an OEM for GM like Denso is for Toyota. But their fuel pumps made for Wrangler TJs have earned a spotty reputation and I've noticed more complaints recently about them. Being an OEM manufacturer for a major automotive brand is no guarantee of quality for other brands.

I wouldn't call Delphi quality when compared with typical denso, though. Just IMO.

I ran many Denso parts on my Nissan. They were all great quality and lasted. The Mopar radiator has a great rep, but I doubt anyone can reasonably argue one is better than the other without having tried both. Give it a shot. At that price, even if it only lasts a few years (which is doubtful) it won't be a huge loss.

My concern with the denso is, based on rock auto photos, it has significantly fewer tubes than the Mopar. Even if "quality" is good and it lasts, I would not expect equivalent heat transfer performance. May not be a problem in Canada. Probably a problem in Texas.

Don't know about their quality, but the only one I found that matched oem tube count was CSF.

Mine had a CFS in it when I bought it. Had to replace it because it was leaking.

Unfortunately, I think Mopar radiators for TJs are on the way out the door. Shown as discontinued on all the online Mopar parts sellers I checked, not listed on Rockauto anymore.

Any information on viable alternatives may be good information to find and hold onto.

Yeah I can verify Mopar radiators are getting very difficult to find. I did several in-depth searches in the last two months and was shocked to find one on www.summitracing.com and picked it up as a spare. It's sitting my garage for safe keeping. I went back there within the past two weeks looking for another for a forum member and didn't find another. They might be back in stock but I kinda doubt it. I did find a Mopar radiator on eBay but its seller was taking advantage of the situation and wanted $900 for it, what an asshole.
